This piece shows the transformation of an origami, which, when opened, reveals a 44in x 44in photograph printed on matte paper. The photograph, once folded into an origami, retains the visible creases and folds, giving the impression of a piece that has been opened, exposing the traces of its past form. The work reflects on the emotional and physical scars that remain after trauma, exploring how the body and mind can be manipulated and marked. At the same time, it offers the audience a glimpse of the complex layers hidden beneath the surface.
